I am sure that this year will probably, be one of our most challenging yet. The serious global financial situation has already affected our income streams and I anticipate that it will get worse before it gets better.
The DSA is in a better position than most other charities because we have a fantastic membership that supports us when we ask for help, whether it be for information, action or fundraising. Nevertheless I am sure that 2009 will be a very difficult year for all of us.----CUT----
I hope you will enjoy reading this issue of Journal, we have articles catering for all ages and as usual lots of lovely letters from you all. The next issue will not be out until September so more information, letters and stories will be posted onto our website in the meantime

Dear Mr Green,
Regrettably, we are unable to comment on the reasons behind Mr Smithies departure from the Down's Syndrome Association, although we wish him all the best with his future career.
You will be aware that any such staffing issues are entirely confidential and it would be completely inappropriate for us to comment on this situation or to pass confidential information of any sort to a third party.
However, please rest assured that the Down's Syndrome Association is still fully committed to its mission, which is to provide information and support for people with Down's syndrome, their families and carers, and the professionals who work with them.
We are proud to help people with Down's syndrome to live full and rewarding lives. We are committed to championing the rights of people with Down's syndrome and we take our responsibilities in this respect very seriously at all times.
We always do whatever we can to support the legitimate pursuit of known perpetrators of any abuse of people with Down's syndrome. However, this can only be achieved within the constraints and parameters of the law in circumstances where judicial proceedings have led to a conviction.

If you go on the Downs Syndrome Association web site you can down load information regarding the "Human Rights Act"
On page 2

I attended a meeting to show my support for Hollie and her mother, with my son who has Downs syndrome last week end in Northumberland.
Robert Green explained he tried to speak to Carol Boys, the Chief Executive of the Downs syndrome Association, to ask her why a supporter of Hollie and her mother, who worked for her organization was sacked from his job for speaking out on behalf of Hollie and her mother.
Carol Boys would not explain to Robert why the sacking had taken place, and there is nothing in the 2010 - 40th Anniversary Spring /Summer issue of the DSA Journal, about the plight of Hollie and her mother. WHY?

The problem is that people in general are very complacent until something actually affects them and it hits them in the face so to speak and by then it is too late because things have been signed and sealed in our name.
How many people realise the implications of the of the Lisbon Treaty, which was signed behind our backs.

You are right:- Under the Portuguese constitution, Goncala Amaral a Portuguese citizen, should have his book given back to him in a LISBON COURT.
A book which two negligent parents British parents are trying to steal from him. To add insult to injury, these negligent parents are asking to be awarded over one million pounds.
Alert everyone you know about the Lisbon Treaty, what is happening in Portugal, and don't fall for the Lib/Lab/Con leadership in the 2010 General Election.
Start the "Peaceful Revolution" There are good people in all political parties who need to be woken up!

Exposing the corruption in our society is one way, and then doing the best you can to bring about change.
Suggest you Google "Common Purpose" and have a look at the videos Brian Gerrish has on this secret organization on the net. Also read this months UK Column and then think about what you can personally do to help put matters right.
Doing nothing is not an option.

Follow the money trail to see where our society is going wrong.
There are good and also greedy people in all walks of life. Our NHS the legal department and Westminster has its fair share of rotten apples.
What bothers me, are the people who know what is going on in our society and choose to do nothing about it. Until that mind set is changed, onlookers are named and shamed and removed from their cushy jobs and privileged positions. I am afraid it will be business as usual.
What we need in the UK is a peaceful revolution to bring in the change we need.
Nothing to say it was not him that sent the e-mail
