Herewith a reply to the main points that have been brought up so far:
1. The Spanish translation of "Your questions answered about Goncalo Amaral" is now up on our website
2. The French translation of our leaflet is ready and will be posted soon on our website
3. We have a draft of a German translation of our leaflet and as soon as the final version is approved, that will be up on our site soon.
4. These translations have been provided by good friends of ours in other countries who support our work and who support the aim of correcting Goncalo's negative image that the press in these countries have promoted.
5. We already have a list of several people who have offered to take our leaflets from various places across the country and have posted an up-to-date list on our website today. We'll update it as more offers come in.
6. We have had a significant number of reports from our members and supporters saying that they have made new donations to Mr Amaral's fund as a direct result of our newsletter about Goncalo Amaral Day. All the donation details given to us personally by Mr Amaral on Friday have been up on our website for a couple of days.
7. The comments about Mr Amaral are carefully noted. No-one has yet criticised the content of our leaflet, which consists of nine common questions about him and straightforward answers that set the record about him straight. Mr Amaral has been sent some copies of our leaflet.
8. In the only communication we have had from Mr Amaral since we sent him the leaflets, he wrote these words: "Many thanks for all your efforts to achieve justice in this case". In a previous communication from Mr Amaral, he said, in terms, that all his energies were focussed on his defence of the various actions against him and he added that as a policy he did not endorse any particular campaigns.
9. In an e-mail sent in August 2009 to us, Mr Amaral made specific reference to our leafleting of the '10 Reasons' leaflet including in Rothley and expressed approval of our efforts.
10. The reason for saying that Amaral's birthday was 3 October was because in September last year he very kindly sent me an invitation to his birthday celebration that day. That his why I thought his birthday was 3 October. I would probably have gone were it not that we had a Madeleine Foundation regional meeting in Cardiff that day and clearly that took priority.
11. We sent Amaral a copy of our biography of him as a matter of courtesy but did not receive a response. I don't suppose many other people bother to run an article about Anaral before him before they write about him. I would not trouble him by asking about the progress of his various court cases but would normally hunt for that sort of information on the internet.
12. As 'ufercoffy' quite rightly said in response to 'Rainbow', most people in Britain do not know the name Goncalo Amaral but certainly have read about a "hard-drinking, incompetent, 'disgraced' cop". It is that false image that our leaflet seeks to dispel.
13. In response to JAGN's comment, correcting the British media's lies about Amaral runs in parallel to the efforts various people are making to find out what really happened to Madeleine McCann; one does not have to wait for the other.
14. Not that I am remotely inclined to answer and of 'Jason's post, but just for the sake of answering (I think) every susbtantial point that's been raised in this discussion today, our Committee member who made a donation of £40 did so in March via PayPal.
15. The e-mail received by JAGN today has been carefully noted and will be taken into account when we next write to Mr Amaral.
16. Finally, we were concerned at the tone of some recent remarks made against us, however we put on record once again the achievements of Joana Morais and her colleagues in Portugal and we trust that our efforts will help at least in a modest way to boost the Amaral support fund.

10........So if you had a Anniversary Dinner the Saturday after your Anniversary, does that mean your Anniversary would be on the Saturday then by your reckoning, because that was the day you were celebrating it
