Having been reading Havers forum, I am quite puzzled by all this talk about "the mcanns settling on Amarals terms".
Lets put it in simple terms.
If you sue someone for defamation, you are the plaintiff. The person who is being sued is the defendant.
If you subsquently decide not to proceed with the action (for example you think or are advised that you are unlikely to win, or just have a change of heart) , then you withdraw. The case ends. That is that. No further action, and the defendant is free to go about their business. There is nothing further required. No negotiation. Nothing.
If you are the defendant in a libel case, you will be taken to court. The plaintiff will proceed with the action, unless......
(a) the plaintiff decides for whatever reason not to proceed (as above)
(b) The defendant decides to try to make an offer to settle without going to court, in which case the plaintiff has the option of going through with the original action or accepting the offer to settle. (there are interesting inplication as regards costs surrounding an offer to settle - if a plaintiff refuses an offer to settle and the court actually awards a lower figure thyan that offered, the plaintiff may have to meet both parties costs - which may dwarf the aactual settlement figure)
(c) the plaintiff and defendant decide to try to negotiate a settlement, to save the court costs.
The rights are always with the plaintiff - call off action, accept an offer or negotiate - and there are no circumstances under which the case is settled under the "defendants terms".
SO HATERS, TRY TO UNDERSTAND...THE McCANNS
ARE NOT GIVING INTO AMARAL...THE McCANNS ARE NOT GOING TO BE PAYING AMARAL'S EXPENSES.....THEY WILL NOT BE GIVING HIM A PENNY
AMARAL IS GIVING IN, TRYING TO SAVE WHAT LITTLE MONEY HE HAS LEFT
EXPLAIN THIS AS WELL....ASK YOURSELF WHY NO PERSON WHO CAN ARGUE AND TELL YOU THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON IN THIS CASE, ARE ALWAYS BANNED AND LABELLED A DISRUPTER ??
IS IT BECAUSE THE FORUM MODERATORS KNOW THAT THE WOOL IS BEING PULLED OVER YOUR EYES, FOR THEIR OWN PERSONAL AGENDAS

its looking like the "Man of Honour and Courage" has folded to try and grasp whatever is left of his frozen assets after the various court cases. By the way, has he paid his brother back for the money he tried to cheat him out of with the house sale?
