We do so to let you know about a legal defence fund that has been set up for Mr Goncalo Amaral, the man who made the McCanns 'arguiods' in September 2007. The fund is to help him afford his huge legal expenses. These have been incurred by two actions against him in the Portuguese courts accusing him of crimes, and the McCanns' libel action against him and his publishers claiming over £1 million in damages.
We have recently received this letter direct from Mr Amaral explaining how donations to this fund can be made. Here is the relevant extract from his letter of 11 June:
